Ashley Peltier is a guest researcher and junior supervisor at the Kalshoven-Gieskes Forum’s International Humanitarian Law Clinic. Before joining the clinic, she pursued a law degree, Juris Doctor, in the United States and recently completed an LL.M. in Public International Law at the University of Amsterdam, where she specialized in International Humanitarian Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from the University of Wisconsin Madison in the United States.

Before joining the clinic, she advocated for various groups in United States including refugee and asylum seekers, Indigenous peoples, veterans, and children. During her Master’s at the University of Amsterdam, she worked as a student researcher at the Amsterdam Center for International Law, where she researched matters involving international human rights law, international humanitarian law, and universal jurisdiction.

In the future, Ashley hopes to work in the areas of International Humanitarian Law and International Human Rights Law at the international and domestic level.
